Television Lately
I ramble a bit about TeeVee stuff.

I've been watching a lot of TV! The Ghost in the Shell finished airing not too long agoโ the "The" is important there. I greatly enjoyed it as another addition to the franchise; the fact that it's more closely based on the manga is just a bonus, as it's hard to find in one piece.
I also do a lot of deep dives into shows I used to watch. There's Riverdale, for example, though I tapped out around the 5th? season. But it still haunts me, and I have several video essays I drop on a whim about that goofy mess of a series. Because the answer to "Should you watch Riverdale?" is a combination of
- "don't take it seriously,"
- "it's complicated,"
- "it depends,"
- "don't get your hopes up,"
- "this is why people dunk on CW shows,"
- "be drunk, high, or both," and ultimately:
- "only if you need to roast the shit out of something."
If you don't want to go through the madness yourself, these links more than make up for it:
- FSN's Riverdale: The Biggest Anomaly in TV History
- Super Eyepatch Wolf's SECOND video on it
- Even Mother's Basement said something about it , and
- Lily Simpson weighs in, too
Remember Girlfriends? Along with The Parkers, that was my show! An all Black cast you can put on your television to veg out with or clean the house to. And Girlfriends was sooooo messy. If they posted on Reddit with the problems they had amongst each other, the judgement would overwhelmingly be "ESH - Everyone Sucks Here." It's entertaining. It's thoughtful. The people acting were talented. And did I mention it was entertaining?
I love mess that's fictional and not mine!
Here's this 11 HOUR VIDEO someone did of the entire series. You're welcome. Fall asleep to it, have a hair wash day, do all those chores you've been putting off, and then get pissed off that we never got closure for Girlfriends since it was abruptly canceled.
I've also been catching up. I have sporadic access to streaming services so I'm usually running pretty late to things. I can't believe I've slept on Batman: Caped Crusader. It's like a Darker and Edgier BTAS, but lacking the implied cringe when something is called thatโ because it's well done! I'm finally up to speed on X-Men '97.

Once I do a bit more reading, I've been meaning to get into My Adventures with Superman. I can't believe it's been months since I've picked up my eReader (because I was going through my stack of physical books).
Sometimes, it's nice to just enjoy things.
