The Problem with Outward Voice...

is that sometimes it just shuts up.
The past month and change I've been in no mood to discuss my inner life with the outside world. I necessarily don't want just anybody glancing in– it's kind of a mess right now. The lamps have been knocked over and there's a growing pile of failed 'fits and dirty dishes. Forget about hosting; there's no food other than protein bars and tap water and I don't feel like changing out of my pajamas.
It happens.
And last week, I was in bed with the flu. And I was lowkey mad about it. Did I not isolate and rest enough the previous weekend? I had to miss Halloween?!
But we are overdue for some Meandering. What little things have I been up to? Have you gotten your flu shot yet? Your Covid booster? Back up your stuff? Don't be like me and put it off. Also don't forget to vote, unless you early voted already.
The Meandering We Do
- What? AO3 down for a couple of weeks? Good thing I loaded some fanfic up into the eReader! I've read two of the three I nabbed, two by Charlotte Finn and rare entry of The Bouncer fandom via snarechan.
- Currently Reading Not Now, Not Ever by Lily Anderson. Currently, the protagonist is killing time in the science fiction section instead of studying. That's me for real!
- I just rewatched some of my favorite scifi movies. ALIENS is pretty good. So is M3GAN. We don't talk about Aliens 3 and M3GAN 2.0 was still ...huh???
- Still wasn't miserable enough to attempt a watch of Clerks 3.
- It's hard to recover from illness in the hottest room in the house, so I had some long-overdue balcony time. No nuts fell on me. I looked up what to do with rosehips after the first frost.
- I missed out on Halloween– fever took forever to break– but I munched on some candy for National Candy Corn Day! Candy Corn or Corn Candy?
- When I wasn't checking out Bucket List locations or Goofy Secondhand TikTok Drama (thanks for the hookup, SWOOP!), I was just... listening to videos about Chernobyl, including those that debunked the sensationalized HBO series. I should've gave The Babushkas of Chernobyl a re-watch, too; maybe I will tonight.
- ...wait, no, we gotta watch more GHOST IN THE SHELL SAC_2045 or whatever. Can't wait. It's gonna be so fucking funny (to me).
- I did not play any games that weren't of the casual mobile variety. FFT (remastered) is still demanding I finish it...
This weekend, I'm going to get more Cursed Creme Brulee (fortunately it comes with a spoon that breaks curses).
For the next couple of posts, we'll meander before the meandering. I got a silly story for you.
