Escapage
What are my weekend plans, babe?
Write about escape. When do you need to escape? How do you escape in healthy ways? How do you escape in unhealthy ways? What can you learn from this?
I need to escape when the terrible ambiance of the local cafe gets to me, and my earbuds aren't enough. Times like that, when the nervous system is overloaded and about to crash out.
Music can help, especially a track on repeat. Or I can just go outside! There is such thing as Too Noisy. Other ways to escape: reading, at least when I can concentrate.
Escaping becomes unhealthy when I'm avoiding discomfort and problems, constantly. It's different from giving things temporary distance. When it's like asking The Laughing Man to hack your eyes so you can't see him right in front of you.
What is one thing you can do this weekend to give yourself a little positive moment of escape? What might get in the way of you making this happen?
Sleeping in.
I mean, I'm not getting enough sleep. Try as I might my bedtime is too close to midnight when I have to get up in six hours. So on the weekends I catch up by sleeping in and naps.
Oooh, I can read in bed.
Festivities going on this year, for some fucking reason, are starting at noon. When the degrees in Fahrenheit is projected to be over 100. Until the evening hits, I plan on staying cool at the house with anime and maybe a movie watch.
