Two screens up in a time I broke out of myself
Because everything has been demanding my attention
And if you ever knew me to study
I listen, read along, listen again
When nothing else can bother me

Like an artist demanding solitude
to make their great work (or try– same thing)

I catch up on neglected poems, too,
Remember how The Wreckers made me feel
So out of what I normally follow
(and no longer do; the girl that introduced me is no longer in my life)
But it is important
To know
My lovers this way
And some things will just linger

I read the annotations
To ensure I'm on the right page
And miss nothing
