Wow, I'm Tired of This.
I watched a thing and got mad about it.
At least in my decentralized Internet neck of the woods, there has been a refreshing wave of calling out how masc-presenting/trans-masc people have been getting the short end of the stick in the conversation. It's not uncommon for them to be pushed out, belittled, or ignored when it comes to the transgender experience, and masculinity (when it is not nuanced) is just straight up villainized.
And it's disheartening to see it happen, no matter where. But to witness it on a panel where I normally enjoy all the guests, it was disheartening to see enbyphobia, colorism, and just stankass attitude directed to another panelist.
So, yeah, disappointed in the latest episode of Olay and Friends. And due to that bullshit, it took me two days to finish watching it. The second-hand hurt (and cringe) is too much for this kid.

At least the comments were calling it out for what it was.
And if that wasn't bad enough, a lot of the comments below complained about shit like "word salad" and how a panelist was talking too slow and taking too long and required a summary. To some, the speaker was gathering their thoughts and choosing their words carefully in order to be thorough– and were even asked to elaborate. Otherwise it was just fuckin' ableism.
And with that note, let us give Da'Shaun some love. One of their books, Belly of the Beast: The Politics of Anti-Fatness as Anti-Blackness, has been recommended for more of a deep dive into desirability. Turns out, it was relevant to the discussion since they were tall talking about Laverne Cox was in a relationship with a White MAGA Republican. Too bad they kept getting disrespected before they could really elaborate!
Again for the cheap seats: Yes, non-binary people belong under the transgender umbrella. And just because someone is trans-masc, doesn't make their perspective any less important.
As someone who is non-binary transgender and occasionally "too slow" when speaking to impatient neurotypicals... fuck you.
