How About A Blog Post?

You know how my state's been recently, so let's have something fun! Also, fuck CloudFlare!

How About A Blog Post?

I just wanted an excuse to flex on the people that were foolish enough to trust in CloudFlare right now, which is like, 60% of the Internet. Y'all. This is why nigh-monopolies (along with regular-degular monopolies) are a fucking bad idea!

But it ain't their fault; it's the "let's take over as much as possible" companies that are wrong. Snark aside I'm trying not to get it twisted.

I can still post here and whatnot. But a lot of my browsing, unfortunately, does land on sites that do use CloudFlare. So I've actually been compelled to stop procrastinating and write a thing!

Swiping this from Robert Kingett's post:

Someone said I should put the journalism hat on again and be the guest host for 1 episode of @firesidefedi but alas, I must decline, because my questions would be questions nobody cares about...

"Says you!" I say, "I'm going to make a blog post about it!"

I love weird questions like this.

Do you code in your underwear and say Trans rights every hour?

I actually hate coding in anything less than pants and shirt. Ironically, I'd probably be commando. I do the 20/20/20 thing and say Trans Rights when I do it.

  • every 20 minutes
  • stare at something 20 feet away
  • for 20 seconds
  • and when you're done, say TRANS RIGHTS as loud as you can

Who's your favorite cat girl and why?

I actually don't have one; I should fix that. I would look at lists and images to see if any would job my memory but. You know. Half the anime sites use CloudFlare apparently.

I know the earliest cat girl I was obsessed with was Merle from Escaflowne.

A young woman with dark skin, blue eyes, and reddish-pink hair. She is looking grumpy and ready to shank someone.
3:

Honorable Mention: Pink from... Dragon Pink. Don't look that up on a shared/public/work computer. She was in my curious preteen head for years, after "accidently" walking by the NC-17 rack at the video rental store.

HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I TURNED 40 THIS YEAR

I hope the mold gets JK Rowling. Not only for me, but for every person that rightfully felt betrayed by her bullshit. I wish ill will on her for every baby queer that had their heart broken by that mediocre milquetoast joke of a writer. Her name is going in the Hex Jar in my backyard.

I was in my mid-twenties, but still: I was that Pansexual that put trans people in a separate box, if unintentionally. My wake-up call was my trans friend letting out a deep sigh when I did the bisexual/pansexual distinction; IYKYK.

If you look back on yourself and cringe, that means you've grown.

How do spinach cookies sound?

Open BSD or Linux? Which OS gives the freedom to deeply examine all their life choices and stare at their existential dread?

Linux for familiarity, tho I did have a teacher talk about BSD of some sort. The one with the lil devil mascot. Yes, FreeBSD. Other than move elements and text around for a class exercise I don't have any experience, though.

The mascot for FreeBSD: A lil devil holding a yellow pitchfork and wearing green sneakers.
The mascot for FreeBSD: A lil devil holding a yellow pitchfork and wearing green sneakers.

And: any of them can if you can ALT+SHIFT hard enough. Figuratively. Metaphorically.

So thank you Robert, for the inspiration!! Now I can try to get some drafts polished and done.
