As I Go
Usually, I keep notes and do a big ol' post the first of the year. But this time I'll post 'em as I can. It's in tangent with the Question of the Day format I currently have in The QCB discord.
Usually, I keep notes and do a big ol' post the first of the year. But this time I'll post 'em as I can. It's in tangent with the Question of the Day format I currently have in The QCB discord: each day we focus on a different principle. Without further ado:
Siku Moja: Umoja and Imani
It's 10 pm where I'm sitting and it was a day of errands, and... recuperating. The day before went well, but ended in such a discordant note I'll have to wait for my therapist appointment to fully unpack it. The day before that was much better– we came together in celebration of someone's next turn around the sun. There was laughter and community and caring.
I remember feeling a sadness when Miss Major passed away earlier this year. But my determination to advocate for other trans queer Black people has only grown stronger.
"We can't afford to not move."
And I cannot stress how important it is to see our elders alive and thriving before resting in power– and I hope that'll be me. I know that'll be me someday. And it carries on at the podium for those to witness, for all generations.
I did not have the energy to go to the park or nature trail today, but I did rest. But since I have a day of blissfully nothing on the agenda tomorrow, I can make the time. (And, tomorrow's principle is Afya [health], so I can spend even more time outside and do healthy things!)
